Information about SME Server 7.4

The SME Server is an open-source software package that, when installed on a PC-compatible computer, transforms it into a easy-to-use, Linux-based communications server. When you connect the SME Server to the Internet and to your network, it provides you with a complete suite of essential networking services for internal and external communications and collaboration. The SME Server is actually a modified version of Red Hat Linux, one of the world's most popular server operating systems thanks to its strength, reliability and affordability. This standard Linux distribution has been simplified by making all of the configuration decisions in advance, such as which server packages to run, how permissions and security should be set, how the disk should be partitioned, how the directories should be organized so that the servers are properly integrated with one another, and so on.

SME Server 7.4, a CentOS-based specialist distribution for servers, has been released
